Overview

Sunbase is a CRM and field sales platform built specifically for solar, roofing, and home improvement companies that rely on door-to-door sales. It handles the full sales cycle from canvassing to proposal, contract, and installation management — making it one of the few platforms that bridges the gap between field sales and project delivery.

Editor's Verdict

The most complete end-to-end platform for solar and roofing D2D teams — from the first knock to signed contract and project delivery.

Full Review

Sunbase occupies a narrow but defensible position in the field sales software market: it's the only platform reviewed here that covers the full solar and roofing sales cycle from initial canvassing all the way through proposal generation, contract signing, and post-sale project management. Sunbase was built specifically for industries where the person who knocks the door needs to be connected — in the same system — to the project manager who schedules the installation. That vertical depth is its strongest card.

The canvassing module works as expected: territory mapping, pin drop logging, lead status tracking, and appointment setting are all present and functional. Where Sunbase earns its differentiation is what happens after the knock. Built-in proposal tools allow reps to generate solar or roofing quotes in the field from a tablet, with real pricing pulled from pre-configured product catalogs. Digital contracts with e-signature eliminate the paper process that slows down many D2D operations. That flow — knock, demo, quote, sign — can happen in a single visit with Sunbase in a way that most competing platforms require three separate tools to replicate.

The platform's reporting covers both sales activity and project delivery, giving managers visibility across both teams in a single dashboard. For a solar company trying to reduce the gap between 'sold' and 'installed,' that cross-functional visibility has real operational value. Third-party review coverage, though, is close to non-existent: Sunbase has a single review on G2 (5.0/5) and a single review on Capterra (4.0/5), both read September 2026. Two data points are not a track record, so weigh customer references you gather yourself far more heavily than the star ratings.

The weaknesses are real and depend on what you're comparing Sunbase to. Against SPOTIO or SalesRabbit on the pure D2D canvassing experience — territory analytics, rep performance dashboards, real-time activity tracking — Sunbase falls short. The UI is functional but not polished, and the mobile experience, while adequate, doesn't match the fluidity of RepMove or SalesRabbit. Third-party integrations are limited: if you're running HubSpot or a Salesforce instance as your system of record, the sync typically goes through Zapier rather than a first-party connector.

Sunbase advertises plans starting from $59 per user per month, but final pricing is set by custom quote — a sales call is still required to get exact numbers for your team size and modules. Given the all-in-one scope, expect totals in the mid-market range. For a 10–50 rep solar or roofing operation that wants to unify canvassing, proposals, contracts, and project management in a single vendor relationship, Sunbase is worth serious evaluation. For general D2D canvassing or account management outside solar and roofing, better-fit options exist.

Who Should Use Sunbase

  • Solar and roofing companies wanting a single platform from knock to installation
  • D2D teams where in-field proposals and contract signing are part of the sales motion
  • Home improvement operations (HVAC, windows, waterproofing) with similar full-cycle needs
  • SMB to mid-market teams of 10–200 reps in the solar or home services vertical

Who Should Avoid Sunbase

  • General D2D canvassing teams outside solar, roofing, or home services
  • Teams that need deep third-party CRM integration (Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Organizations prioritizing a polished mobile UI or advanced territory analytics
  • Buyers who need full published pricing tiers — only a from-$59/user/month starting point is public

Bottom Line

Sunbase is the best single-vendor solution for solar and roofing companies that want to connect their field canvassing operation to their project delivery workflow. If your industry isn't solar or roofing, look elsewhere. If it is, Sunbase earns a serious evaluation alongside SalesRabbit.
